Melbourne: The former Australian Batsman Michael Slater has been arrested in Sydney after the incident of domestic violence, Australian media reported on Wednesday.
Slater manager Sean Anderson refused to comment on the report.
New South Wales (NSW) police said they had begun investigated on Tuesday into a report on the household violence incident last week.
“Following the question, the detective attended the house on a watch around 9:20 a.m.
and talked to a 51-year-old man.
He has since been arrested and taken to the police station Manly,” NSW police said in a statement on Wednesday.
Opening Batsman Slater played 74 tests from 1993-2001 and 42 internationally one day before becoming a fixture on the Australian TV screen as a cricket commentator for 15 years.
Slater was dumped from the team’s seven cricket comment team last month after three years with Australian broadcasters.
The 51-year-old child caused controversy in May after Terrade Angry against Prime Minister Scott Morrison on social media.
Slater said Morrison had “blood in his hand (his hand)” after the government temporarily forbade Australians to return home from India when the Asian country struggled against the main Covid-19 outbreak.
