COLOMBO: Hashan Tillakaratne, the dogged left-handed middle-order batsman of the past, was appointed head coach of the Sri Lanka women’s cricket club for a span of six weeks.
A part of the 1996 World Cup-winning group, Tillakaratne has held many training positions prior to his most recent elevation.
“The Sri Lanka Cricket wants to announce the appointment of Mr.
Hashan Tillakaratne because the Head Coach of the National Women’s Team.
The appointment came in to effect from 1st June 2021,” Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) posted on its site.
Though his contract expires December 31, it’s anticipated he will find an original bargain in the SLC, using all the ICC women’s World Cup in New Zealand scheduled in February-Marchthe following calendar year.
In addition, it said that Tillakaratne’s most recent mission comes as a part of their”continuing coach restructuring application in the High Performance Centre of the SLC.” One of his prior functions are functioning as the head coach of the Sri Lanka U-19 aspect along with also the batting coach of the Sri Lanka emerging group.
