Houston: A number of people turned out to be in Texas Monday to show support for a mother who was charged to endanger a child after locking her 13-year-old son in the trunk of his car to take it for the Covid test.
Supporters, including former students, plaques hanged and push letters at the teacher’s house in Jersey Village, Texas, outskirts of Houston.
Sarah Beam, 41, has been pushed last week to the Pridgeon Houston Stadium, where people can be tested without getting out of their car.
He told the site manager that he was there for his son, who had tested positive before, and explained that he had placed him in the trunk of his car so as not to risk himself.
Site workers asked to see teenagers and then tell him that there was no test that could be done until he was in the back seat of the vehicle.
He then told the police, which verified the story with a surveillance camera.
Last Saturday, Beam was arrested for being suspected of endangering a child.
He was released the next day with a guarantee of $ 1,500.
On Monday, his former lesson came to his house to defend it, installed a support message.
Someone wrote that he was “a true hero without robes, assets to school and blessings to the students,” While others said he was “an extraordinary teacher, a loving mother, and a woman who empowered.” The cardboard signs hanging from the home window said “We stand with you always” and “don’t judge a book by its cover”.
The current beam “on administrative leave,” the school was announced.
Court officials have not announced when the case will be heard.
