Nagpur: Supporters of former Minister of Maharashtra Anil Deshmukh on Friday observed ‘times (black) Diwali’ and performed ‘Rasta Roko’ (blocking traffic) in 18 places in the constituency of the Katol Assembly to protest the arrest of senior NCP leaders by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) Earlier this week in the case of money laundering.
According to party colleagues, there is a wave of sympathy in all voters for Deshmukh and his family.
Agitation and solidarity of drives such as ‘aamhi sahebanchya friend’ (on the side of the leader) has begun soon after former Mumbai CP Param Bir Bir Singh stated before the member committee member of the member that he did not have other additional evidence from the first letter of complaints against the minister.
Protests gradually intensify the constituencies represented by former ministers five times.
According to party colleagues, Deshmukh has planned several development jobs for Nagpur Regency which will encourage the economy of Vidarbha but “these projects do not have the future now”.
It was studied, Deshmukh loyalists around 70 Panchayat Samisis in Katol Taluka and two city councils in Narghed and Mowad have also participated in the protest.
According to NCP President Narched City Sanjay Charde, this was the first time in more than three decades when “Saheb” was not present at the place of origin of Wadwihira in Narched Taluka for Diwali.
“We were wearing a black badge and participated in a demonstration at Gandhi Chowk and Vyapari Line in Narghed against the abuse that was moored with our leaders (Deshmukh) and his family members by central agencies such as ED, CBI and IT departments at BJP’s orders,” he said.
“Development activities initiated by our ministers are now in backburners.
After all, Vidarbha and especially the Nagpur region felt the burden of injustice being brought to Deshmukh and his family,” Charde said.
In Katol, agitation has kicked the next day of Deshmukh’s arrest.
According to former Vice President Katol Panchayat Samiti, Anup Kharade, protests held in 58 villages, followed by similar agitation in 33 other villages.
“People from at least 20 villages join the ‘Aamhi Sahebanchya Drive’ in Katol Taluka,” Kharade said.
“By respecting the court and agency, this type of magician-motivated hunting shows our democracy in a bad light,” Kharade said while warning that agitation would immediately intensify.
NCP Leader Narghed Artade said that in Jalalkheda, Bharsesi, Belona, Devgram, Sawarmaon, Bishnoor and demonstrations of other small villages were performed at the local level.
“The protest is peaceful.
The social media platform is widely used,” said NCP leader.
