Dibrugarh: The former United Coordination Committee of Liberation (Independent) has been seeking rehabilitation of former rebels who have surrendered weapons and returned to the mainstream.
Committee members, handling press meetings at the larger Dibrugarh press club on Tuesday, said most Ulfa members (i) previously after releasing weapons had been forced to live a sad life due to lack of meaningful work.
In memorandum to the Minister of Main Himanta Buswa Sarma on Tuesday, the panel was looking for rehabilitation of all former rebels through various state government schemes.
It also searches for releases of all members of Ulfa (i) who are imprisoned and fast disposal of all cases delayed against the former rebels.
