Fortnightly high levels in Delhi, 6 states

New Delhi: The third wave of Covid may be here but not all countries need to be worried.
For, restrictions on West Bengal, Maharashtra, Goa, Mizoram, Punjab, Kerala and Delhi where covid’s participants’ levels of covid every two weeks or total cases confirmed per 100 tests measured over a period of 14 days (December 26 – 8) have risen up to 17% , The situation in other parts has not taken a serious turn.
This situation may be worrying in West Bengal where the pandemic has spread rapidly in the past two weeks with the level of participation exceeding 17%, far above the world health organization drawn by 5% red lines.
Unlike the Delta variant which caused the second wave, Omicron turned out to be less deadly, with the infected majority of not needing hospitalization.
Significantly, each of these states, except Mizoram and Kerala, have the level of their participants floating around 1% in the previous two weeks (December 13-26).
A TOI study found that while most states and the United States also witnessed a quick increase in Covid cases in the past two weeks, many of them were still out of danger and far from the “red” line that had been withdrawn for the second wave.
The situation in five states bound is mixed.
While Goa (15%) and Punjab (6%) seem to require direct and strict detention steps, others have not reached that stage with the positive level remaining below 2%, the lowest in reaching less than 1%.
.
Uttarakhand and Manipur have around 2%.
All-India’s first front level for the past two weeks has been around 4%, even though it was a massive surge from 0.5% in the previous 14 days.
The situation in many other countries is very similar to at least seven of them – Jharkhand, Himachal Pradesh, Haryana, Chhattisgarh, Tamil Nadu, Gujarat and Rajasthan – have a level of participants around 3-4% during late overnight 8.
High positivity levels show only state testing The most painful and less in tracking and treatment steps.
One reason why the level of progress has not blazed also because the coverage of greater vaccination with the last weak country reaches a dose of 150 crores.
Bihar, Odisha, Telangana, Karnataka, Madhya Pradesh, Andhra Pradesh, Assam and J & K have all maintained a lower level of participation than 2%, so far.
During the second wave peak in April-May, Goa has a two-week high level of 43%, followed by Karnataka 32%, West Bengal 30%, Kerala 27%, Uttarakhand 23% and 22% respectively in Himachal Pradesh, Andhra, Chandigarh and Rajasthan.
As on Sundays, the highest number of active Covid cases are in Maharashtra (1.7 lakh), West Bengal (62,055) and Delhi (48,178).
Tamil Nadu, Karnataka and Kerala each have between 30,000 and 40,000 active cases while Gujarat and Jharkhand each have more than 21,000 cases, up has 18,551 cases and Rajasthan 14,000.
