Foundation is placed for two housing model schools

Religious: The State Union Minister for Tribal, Bisweswar Tudu, on Monday lay the foundation for two Eklavya model housing schools (EMRS) s in Kandhamal and Gajapati Regency.
These schools will be established in Mundigada in Block Tumudibandha District Kandhamal and in Badigaon in the Gajapati District Gumma Block.
Each of these housing schools will get 420 tribal students from class VI to XII.
For the Gajapati District, the center has sanctioned the construction of four housing model schools in Gumma, Nuagada, Rayaganada and R Udaagiri block.
On November 15 last year, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has laid the foundation for the school proposed at R Udayagiri.
The source, however, said that only one such school functions in Chandragiri in the Mohana Block in the district, at this time.
For Kandhamal Regency, the center has given eight emrs.
These schools will be established in Phulbani, Kotagarh, Sarangaga, Khajuripada, Tumudibandh, G Udagiri, Raikia and Demaribadi.
At present, two EMRs in Maasingi in Blok Nuagaon and Pheiriria functions.
“Other proposed school construction work will begin soon after the state government on the land needed for that purpose,” UI Minister said near Mundigada in Kandmamal Regency.
The Minister also reviewed the central scheme being held in the district for tribal welfare.
Behera Simanchal, district welfare officer (Kandhamal), said, “We are in the process of acquiring land for the proposed school.
While the land has been cleaned for four EMRs, others are waiting for the forest clearing,” he said.
Likewise, Santosh Rath, DWO (Gajapati) said the land had been identified for the school proposed in Rayaganada and Nuagada.
