NEW DELHI: The Indian Railways delivered over 16,023 tonnes of liquid chemical oxygen over 977 tankers into 14 countries and Union territories during the previous month amid a higher need for its life threatening gas because of the continuing Covid-19 outbreak, the federal transporter mentioned on Monday.
Thus far, 247 Oxygen Express trains have brought relief to several countries and UTs, whereas 12 loaded Oxygen Express trains are now running with over 920 tonnes of liquid chemical oxygen (LMO) at 50 tankers.
On Sunday, over 1,142 tonnes of oxygen has been delivered by these kinds of trains, exceeding the previous top single-day listing of producing 1,118 tonnes of oxygen May 20, ” it stated.
The shipping of LMO from Oxygen Express trains to Tamil Nadu spanned 1,000 tonnes, the Railways stated.

“So much, 614 tonnes of oxygen was offloaded at Maharashtra, almost 3,649 tonnes from Uttar Pradesh, 633 tonnes at Madhya Pradesh, 4,600 tonnes at Delhi, 1,759 tonnes at Haryana, 98 tonnes at Rajasthan, 1,063 tonnes at Karnataka, 320 tonnes at Uttarakhand, 1,024 tonnes at Tamil Nadu, 730 tonnes at Andhra Pradesh, 225 tonnes at Punjab, 246 tonnes at Kerala, 976 tonnes at Telangana and 80 tonnes at Assam,” it stated.
The federal transporter maps distinct paths with oxygen distribution places and keeps itself prepared for any emerging demand of those states and UTs. The countries and UTs offer tankers into the Railways for attracting LMO.
