Patna: The four members of the ‘Bara’ party were arrested for consuming liquor when returning home on the bus from Madhepura to West Bengal on Tuesday.
They praised from Darjeeling and Jalpaiiguri in West Bengal.
They were forwarded to prison after production in front of the court on Wednesday.
Liquor is prohibited from Bihar.
The police intercepted the bus with at least 60 ‘Baraatism’ when one of them threw a bottle of liquor from the window in Bagla Pul before Trivenigin in Supaul.
The police said a clerk saw a bottle of liquor thrown and told the senior police officer.
The bus was intercepted under the police station area, in the Supaul district.
All of Baratas, including at least three children and women, experienced a breathalyser test.
The police said the bus returned to Jalpaiiguri in West Bengal through Supaul with guests who attended the marriage suspected at the Temple of Singheshwar Ashran in the Maday Night district.
The police station, Sho Rajesh Choudhary said they were arrested were identified as Sanjeev Gupta (44), Vijay Gupta (46) and Abhay Shankar Prasad (47) from Darjeeling and Raju Kumar Navgram under the Bhaktinagar police area in Jalpaiguri Regency.
“The police also recovered 100ml liquor in a small bottle of mineral water from Sanjeev.
The police cannot restore liquor bottle thrown from the bus window,” Sho said.
Sho said everything, including three boys aged 15 to 17 years, experienced a breathalyser test and four of them were tested positive for alcohol.
He said the newly married couple was not on the bus.
“They go to the car in front of the bus,” he added.
