Thane: Police in the city of Thane Maharashtra on Thursday Understanding four Coppocket allegedly involved in targeting people in demonstrations and political events, officials said.
Two violations of pickpockets were registered during Jan Asphwad Yatra BJP in Thane on Monday, Senior Inspector Vikas Godke of the Crime Unit V (Wagle) said.
Based on CCTV footage and intelligence input, the police focused on charges and arresting them from Malegaon from the Nashik district, the official said.
During interrogation, the defendant revealed that they targeted people during political function and stole their wallets and cellphones, he said.
The police have recovered cash with a tone of Rs 1.19 lakh, 10 cellphones and cars from the defendant, the official said, added that the total value of the seizure was Rs 6.69 Lakh.
Violations have been registered against the defendant with Malegaon Station, Sangamner, Satan, Bhadrakali, MFC, and Vashi in 12 crimes, the official said.
