Vadodara: The whole family of four, consisting of their parents and sons and daughters, has been ordered to sell drugs to young people in the city.
Prevention of Crime Branch (PCB) damaged the racket on Monday night and arrested Mohsina Munshi who was 24 years old from a commercial complex on Jalan Padra Tua.
The defendant revealed that his parents and brothers were also involved in drug sales racquets.
While Shaqib Munshi’s brother was arrested, their parents were in runaway.
“We have received the following tip-off that we Nabbed Mohsina and his 21-year-old brother Shaqib and also seized a number of marijuana from the complex.
Duo revealed that they had sold drugs for more than a year because both of them had a good network among young people , “said Jatin Patel, Police Inspector, PCB.
Mohsina said that she had come into contact with a man who was identified as a dilip when he studied at Vidyanagar.
Diliped told him that he bought large amounts of drugs from Madhya Pradesh and sold it in Gujarat.
“Mohsina told her mother Zarina Munshi about it and they decided to become a drug supplier to get fast money.
They also involved Abdullah Patel, Mohsina’s stepfather, in trading,” Patel Toi said.
Both Mohsina and Shaqib began selling marijuana and charas among their contacts including young people from the middle and upper middle class family.
When a business grew up, Abdullah and Zarina began traveling to Anand to get supplies of medicines.
Zarina was used to manage the stock of drugs at home, while Mohsina and Shaqib sold them.
PCB also caught two addicts – met Thakkar and Nupur Sehgal – who worked for multi-national companies (MNC) in Gotri and were regular customers of Mohsina.
They will buy drugs from him and sell them further among their friends.
“We stormed Mohsina’s house in Tandalja and arrested around 560GM marijuana and charas 10GM,” Patel added.
