Surat: Four individuals in interior villages of Valsad district have been nabbed on Sunday for printing and distributing fake currency notes of 500 denomination.
Before, the special operations group (SOG) of all Valsad authorities had arrested Zipru Bhoya, an auto-rickshaw driver.
Bhoya was captured out of Dharampur and 66 bogus notes were retrieved .
Questioning him directed the authorities to three additional accused recognized as Parse alias Parshu Pawar, Chitu Bhujad and Parth Shah, all inhabitants of Dharampur.
As many as 88 fake currency notes of 500 denomination were retrieved by both accused.
The four told authorities they had to publish the counterfeit currency notes circulate at village markets located across the Gujarat-Maharashtra border.
The accused used to combine accurate and fake currency notes to avoid raising suspicion.
During interrogation the accused disclosed another gang member called Ajay utilized to publish these notes.
“He had to scan the notes and could make it resemble an initial note by little editing in certain applications and publish them,” stated inspector V B Barad of SOG.
He also added that Ajay too will probably be nabbed shortly which may cause seizure of fake notes.
