Coimbatore: Rural police captured over 3kg ganja from four men and women in the past two days.
A group headed by Karumathampatti sub-inspector Semmanan captured 3.5pound ganja from M Murugan, 39, of Somanur and R Palanisamy, 24, of Boyar Colony in M Kallipatti close Gobichettipalayam whenever they had been at Elachipalayam using the contraband.
The duo has been remanded in judicial custody.
The Sulur authorities on Friday detained B Nishath, 23, of Haripuram close New Siddhapudur and T Aravindh, 22, of Veerapandi Pirivu close Periyanaickenpalayam for possession of ganja.
They’re employees of a private company at Kalapatti, police sources said.
They have been remanded in judicial custody and lodged at the Avinashi sub-jail.
