Ranchi: The State Health Department, Medical Education and Family Welfare has directed the administration of all 24 Jharkhand districts to increase the installation work of 38 PSA oxygen factories that have been approved by the Center under PMCares funds in June this year.
In a review meeting, held by department officials, has emerged that only four of the 38 PSA factories were controlled in the state.
The four factories are in Ranchi Hospital, Ranchi Ranchra (Rims) in Ranchi, Mahatma Gandhi Memorial Medical College and Hospital (MGMMCH) Jamshedpur and Dhanbad’s Shahead Nirmal Mahto Medical College and Hospital.
PSA Factory is subject to sanctions for medical colleges in Palamu, Hazaribag, Dumka and AIims Deoghar, Bokaro General Hospital, Sub-Division Hospital in Bundu, Ghatshila, Sahibanj, conscious 20 districts and five public health centers.
A total of 29 of 38 PSA factories will be installed by the Organization of Research and Defense Development (DRDO) while four will be installed by the Central Center for Medical Services Community.
Five of the remaining plants will be installed by a subsidiary of the Ministry of Health Union HLL Infratech Services Limited.
The preparation of the site before the installation will be carried out by Jharkhand Government (5 plants), the Central Public Works Department (5 plants) and the National Highway Authority of India (NHAI).
“Civil construction work and pipe installation are the main causes of delay in guiding plants.
Regardless, purchasing sets of generators and electrification work also take the time,” said a senior official at the State Health Department.
The Director of the Uma State Health Mission Shankar Singir directed the officials concerned that the installation of pipes and procurement of set generators must be completed on July 30.
“Funds are available with the confidence of regency mineral funds, funds for CSR, MLA and MP Lad and funds are used to complete the earliest work,” Singh said.
