Kolkata: With four assembly constituencies in West Bengal going to Bypolls on Saturday in the middle of strict security and the maintenance of the Covid protocol, all eyes will be in Dinhata because TMC Heavyweight Udaya Guha is looking to reclaim the chair, which has been taken by BJP by a mustache in April elections.
Guha, Mla twice, has pocketed a seat for the front block in 2011 and TMC in 2016.
He opposed the Ashok Mandal BJP, who had defeated him in 2006 as TMC candidates.
Bypoll to Dinhata is required to take part in the resignation of Nisith Pramanik, now the minister of state unity for home business, when he chose to maintain his Sabha’s membership.
Pramanik has beaten Guha with a narrow margin of 57 votes in assembly elections.
Three other chairs, where the general election will be held on October 30 is Santipur in Nadia District, Khardah in 24 North Parganas and Gosaba in 24 South Parts.
In Santipur, too, MP BJP Jagannath Sarkar resigned from the Assembly, so that it called for Bypoll.
The Saffron party has now deployed Goswami’s bragishore from the chair.
Goswami has crossed the sword with the Niranjan Biswas TMC nomination.
Bypolls to Dinhata and Santipur are prestige battles for the Safron Party, which currently grappled with the exodus of MLA and senior leaders.
Two other chairs, however, fell emptiness after the death of the winning candidate.
The State Minister for Sovandeb, Chatttopadhyay, who resigned from Bhabanipur to facilitate the election of the Minister of Mamata Banerjee to the Assembly, fighting from Khardah, where Kajal Sinha TMC died of Covid-19, just a few days after the poll was held.
Chattopadhyay has locked the horn with BJP candidate Joy Saha in Khardah.
The winner of the Gosaba TMC Jayanta Naskar seat, also gave up on viral infections.
The ruling party in Bengal has lowered the subrata of the chair to face Palash Raha BJP.
The Election Commission has ordered the strict maintenance of Covid-19 guidelines during the fourth elections to four seats, where broad security settings have also been made for peace polls.
It has mobilized 27 central armed force companies in Dinhata, 22 in Santipur, 20 in Khardah and 23 in Gosaba, said an official.
The poll panel previously banned large demonstrations as part of a political campaign, given the Covid-19 situation, and the parties concentrated on door-to door visits and road corner meetings.
Apart from TMC National Secretary General Abhishek Banerjee, MP Veteran Sougata Ray and Transport Minister Firhad Judge has campaigned for their party candidates.
They highlight the achievements of the TMC government over the past decade, while criticizing the alleged communal agenda of the Safron Party and the increase in fuel prices without stopping.
Likewise, the BJP leaders, including the President of the State Party of Sukanta Majumdar, opposition leader in the Suvendu Assembly Adhikari and the National Vice President of Dilip Ghosh, accused TMC practicing Bank’s politics by choosing to maintain “silence” for attacks on Hinduism in Bangladesh.
