GUWAHATI: Four-time Gossaigaon MLA Majendra Narzary expired because of post-Covid complications in a state-run hospital at Guwahati on Wednesday, its own physicians said. The Bodoland Peoples’ Front (BPF) pioneer was 68 and is survived by his wife and four kids. The Assam government stated the resistance MLA’s final rites will be run with complete state honours. He’d reflected the Gossaigaon constituency at Kokrajhar district because 2006 and defeated his closest rival of UPPL’s Somnath Narzary by over 10,000 votes at the recently completed meeting polls. Narzary was declared to Gauhati Medical College and Hospital after becoming infected with Covid-19 and then tested negative but that his condition deteriorated because of comorbidities,” Health Minister Keshab Mahanta stated. Narzary was a large school headmaster and has been also connected with various social businesses. Condoling the legislator’s departure, main minister Himanta Biswa Sarma said,”I’m pained to find out about the untimely passing of Gossaigaon MLA Majendra Narzary. A committed social worker, dedicated politician and intensely loved, his lack will likely be sorely missed” Sarma’s cabinet determined that Narzary’s final rites will be run with complete state honours.
