New Delhi: Four Gang members have been arrested for allegedly robbing RS 50,000 shop owners in the Bhagya Vihar Rohari area, police said on Monday.
The defendant has been identified as Ankit Sharma (24), Mohit (20), Himanshu Dabas (20), and Nitesh Patel (18), all the residents of Mubarakpur Dabas are here, they said.
On June 23, the police received information that gunmen had robbed Rs 50,000 from money exchangers and telephone refill dealers – Deepak Kumar – after entering his shop, officials said.
The accusation wore a mask, police said.
During the investigation, the defendant was identified.
The police learned that the defendant did not use their cellphones but communicate with their contacts through an unknown cellphone, they said.
The police followed their contact and received a tip-off that the defendant would carry out another robbery in Rajeev Nagar’s extension.
A police team reached the place and tried to catch them.
The defendant tried to escape and fired a shot at the police.
The police also retaliated by firing one shot that hit Himanshu.
He rushed to the hospital.
Patel also nabbed from that place, said a senior police officer.
In their disclosure, Mohit and Ankit were also arrested, the officer said.
Two pistols, one air gun and 15 cartridges live recover from their ownership, police said.
