Greater Noida: Four people were arrested on Saturday night for allegedly looting a liquor store after a shootout in Surajpur.
On January 23, the defendant had robbed Rs 1.3 lakh from liquor stores in Surajpur.
A case was registered against the suspect under the IPC part 392 (robbery) at the Surajpur Police Station.
The police said, two robbers received a bullet injury at their feet and the two-artist paleles of the country recovered from them.
According to the police, the defendant was identified as Rohit aka Amrish Kumar (20), Brijesh (21), both of them were native Hapur; Yogesh Chaudhary alias Bunty (23), a resident of Amroha, and Kapil (24), who came from Meerut.
Eamaran G, Deputy Commissioner of the Additional Police (ADCP) (Noida Central), said that Police Surajpur received information about the movement of several suspects near the Tilaapta roundabout in Greater Noida.
“A police team reached the place and during checking, the police signaled them to stop but they took U turn and when our team began to follow them, they shot them,” he added.
The police also opened fire in defense where two suspects – Amrish and Yogesh – received a bullet injury at their feet and they were arrested.
The police recovered the country-made gun, two direct cartridges and two used cartridges from their ownership.
The team has also recovered the 80,500 RS from ownership accused.
The police said that two other legs managed to escape from the place, however, the police launched a combing exercise and immediately arrested them.
The new case has been registered with the Defendant based on Part 307 (murder attempts) IPC and Section 3 and 25 of Act Art.
