Paris: France on Wednesday firmly denied reports published on Wednesday in the British daily telegraph that said President Emmanuel Macron was willing to hand over France’s permanent seats in the UN Security Council in return for the establishment of the European Union.
“No, France has not offered to leave his seat in the UN Security Council.
It belongs to France and it will remain so,” the presidency said on his Twitter account.
