Paris: France will offer free birth control for all women until the age of 25 years the following health minister announced Thursday.
The size will also include free medical visits about contraception, and will start January 1, Minister of Health Olivier Veran announced on French television-2.
Birth control is free for girls to 18 years, but is being expanded for all women up to 25.
Veran says young women use contraception of less than they use, and that the main reason is financial.
He does not quote certain data.
The French state health care system includes birth control costs but not all.
“It cannot be tolerated that women cannot protect themselves, cannot use contraception if they make that choice, because the cost is too expensive,” Veran said.
He does not overcome contraceptive methods for men.
