Gurgaon: The executive of a private company working in Manesareans is deceived by RS 51,000 with online fraudsters on the name of the popular game.
The victim was told by the caller that he had won RS 25 Lakh’s prize from popular game games, Kaun Banega Crorepati, and had to pay a fee to claim the number of lotteries.
Victims were made to pay with the name of processing and tax.
After paying charges, he realized that he was cheated and approached the police and a registered case.
Shiv Chander, native residents of Bihar, currently live in a rented house in Manesar and work with private companies on Imt Manesar.
On April 13, Chander received a call from an unknown number on his cellphone and the caller identified himself as Pratap Singh from KBC.
Pratap told Chander about the gift money he had just won and gave instructions on how to claim the money.
In the next few minutes Chander received several calls and Pratap asked him to share certain personal details and asked him to pay money on behalf of processing and tax fees.
Victims were made to pay Rs 18,000 and Rs 24,000 in two installments.
He was also made to call a different person to claim the amount.
Even after paying RS 51,000 fraudsters try to squeeze more money from Chander.
When he insisted on getting the number of fraudsters who stopped responding to his call.
That’s when Chander realized that he had been cheated and approached the cyber police station.
The case has been registered after the initial investigation below Section 420 (cheating) and 406 (fraud) IPC at the Manbar police station.
Pankaj Singh, Station House Officer (Sho) from the Manual police station confirmed that this case was registered and said that the investigation was underway.
