Panaji: Aam Aam Party on Wednesday slammed the increase in commercial water rates and stood by the Goan industry and entrepreneurs who had been shaken under the pandemic effect.
Instead of designing new steps to protect it, the government has increased commercial water rates as part of the Eyewash of the scheme for free water, the party states.
“This water rate is not ongoing for the hotel industry that has faced many difficulties because less footfall tours,” said Jack Sukhija, businessman and carrier of the Panaji Travel Office and the Goa Tourism Association.
“When CM must stand with the Goan business, he has decided to hit them hard.
And why? So he can push the free Jumla water.
It is clear that Jumla Sawant does not help Gourkars General or Industry,” said Aap Goa Convenor Rahul Mhambre.
High-level will force commercial institutions to take water from tankers, impact on cave ground water content, said the party.
Mhambre also questioned how the state government hoped to provide work for GOANS and accused him of strangling private companies.
