New Delhi: Nearly 80% of visitors to the Republican Day celebration in New Delhi in 2019 received free feedback issued by the government.
Others have to buy tickets at prices of Rs 20, Rs 100 and Rs 500 but “without seats ordered”, in accordance with the response to a series of RTI questions requested by Noida-based social workers.
In 2019, nearly 32,000 tickets were sold.
In a separate reply to the question of one Dhiraj Kumar Gupta, the Ministry of Defense has revealed the estimated seating capacity is around 1.06 lakh.
The government has published around 1.2 lakh acceptance cards in 2019 and 2020 for free for government employee fees and other staff.
The number of visitors was dramatically cut by 2021 because the Covid-19 pandemic and this year would be much less.
“This is a national celebration.
Why are ordinary people must struggle to get tickets while government and VIP officers get it easily and it is too free of charge,” Gupta said.
