Guwahati: The Government Assam has attracted a free hospital treatment for all Covid patients except those in the BPL category and in serious conditions to encourage house isolation so that hospital beds are available for severe infected and not hindered by those who are not serious.
Minister of Justice Minister Himanta Buswa Sarma said that considering the outstanding Omicron variants, the state anticipated Koovid-19 higher in the coming days compared to the two previous waves.
“These waves have one positive side.
Because Omicron is a light variant, so far we have seen a low inpatient.
But when we reach the top, we might see more hospitalization we need to sleep,” Sarma said.
“Because we will have more cases, we don’t want to encourage hospitalization except a serious patient.
Free maintenance will not be available for optional hospitalization.
Only BPL patients and those who are serious conditions will be treated freely.
We hereby say we encourage House isolation so the bed is not occupied by patients who are not serious and otherwise these beds are stored for serious patients, “Sarma said.
Sarma also said they were in an optional hospitalized must get food from home because there would only be hospital food and not special food as before.
“There will be a canteen at the Covid Care Center where packaged food will be available to buy,” he added.
“Those who are not in serious condition must go for house isolation as long as the patient has a caregiver who can contact the hospital in any emergency case.
We will send a free drug kit to those in house isolation,” he added.
Furthermore, those in the isolation of houses without complications will be automatically treated as negative at the end of seven days since positive testing without testing.
