Freedom fighter, Congress veteran Kaliannan Expires 101

Namakkal: Freedom fighter and veteran fated T M Kaliannan passed out at age 101 in his own native at Namakkal district Friday.
Kaliannan is survived by spouse Parvathiammal, 95, kid G K Rajeswaran, three brothers and eight grandchildren.
Parvathiammal can be ill and undergoing therapy at a hospital.
A rebellious childhood switched devout Gandhian, Kaliannan has functioned as a MLA, MLC in addition to a part of the Constituent Assembly.
He was just 27 years old when elected to the Constituent Assembly.
His grandson P V Senthil claims Kaliannan was the final surviving member of this Constituent Assembly.
Kaliannan fell ill a couple of days ago and had been admitted to a private hospital at Tiruchengode where he expired on Friday morning.
His remains were cremated with state honours.
“I had been saddened with the news of the passing.
The passing of Kaliannan, who’d uttered belief in astronomy and invested his life serving individuals was a reduction to Madras presidency, Tamil Nadu along with also the whole of India,” chief minister M K Stalin explained in his condolence message.
“Although he had been called Kasthuripatti zamindar, he had been a reformist who endorsed the abolition of both zamidari method,” Stalin said.
T M Kaliannan was created January 10, 1921, in Akkaraipatti at Namakkal district and finished education in Tiruchengode.
He was scarcely 21 and has been studying English literature at Loyola College in Chennai when he combined the revolution from the British.
His activities encouraged the anger of the British government manning the faculty and he had been sent off.
It was during that time he seen Sabarmati Ashram and fulfilled Gandhi who requested him to remain there for 10 days.
Those couple of days mellowed down Kaliannan.
Influenced from the ideals of Gandhi he engaged in the Quit India movement in 1942 and then joined Congress.
He return into Tiruchengode and united the Gandhi Ashram.
After he was 27 years old, Congress stalwart K Kamaraj suggested his name to the part meeting and that he was unanimously chosen to be the youngest member.
In first general election following liberty, Kaliannan contested at the Rasipuram section and won by a thumping margin.
He moved on to acquire two elections as MLA prior to heading on to carry different articles.
“He had been the sole surviving former associate of their constituent assembly,” said his grandson P V Senthil.
Senthil, a freelancer, recalls that if the zamindari system has been abolished, Kaliannan gave off over 1,000 acres of the inherited land.
“He functioned as Tamil Nadu Congress committee’s vice-president and treasurer.
Throughout his lifeas he held several positions, he labored to the development of this Congress party.
He had been simplicity .
At exactly the identical time, he’d say his views with courage and honesty,” TNCC main K S Alagiri stated.
