French Open Main’sorry and Gloomy’ over Naomi Osaka withdrawal

PARIS: French tennis federation president Gilles Moretton confessed Monday that he”was sorry and sad” which Naomi Osaka had made a decision to draw from Roland Garros.
“We’re miserable and sorry for Naomi Osaka.
The consequence of Naomi withdrawing from Roland Garros is unlucky,” explained Moretton.
The 23-year-old Japanese superstar was fined $15,000 on Sunday and threatened with disqualification once she refused to perform a compulsory news conference after her first round triumph.
Osaka stated she’d decided against taking part in any networking action to protect her psychological wellbeing.
Moretton had stated on the eve of this championship which Osaka’s choice to not attend compulsory press conferences proved to be a”phenomenal mistake”.
“We wish her the very best and the fastest possible recovery,” Moretton additional because he read a prepared statement without getting questions.
“We anticipate getting Naomi within our championship next year.
“As all of the Grand Slams, the WTA, the ATP, along with the ITF, we remain very dedicated to each of athletes’ well-being as well as constantly improving every facet of gamers’ expertise in our championship, including the press, such as we’ve always wished to do”
