Fresh as Daisy: NDMC plans for bright welcome to winter

New Delhi: Come on Winter and Central Park at Connaught Place, Barakhamba Road, bath house, Windsor roundabout, Talkatorione and several other areas will be a colorful and new sport.
New Delhi Municipal Council (NDMC) has deactivated plans for flowering and decorative leaves in these places.
“This is a busy area and stretches unlike Lutyens’ Delhi and plant flowering plants there will be a challenge because of the use of a large road,” Recognizing S.
Chelliah, Director, Horticulture, NDMC.
NDMC will use a 25cm pane round which is equipped with geotextile fabrics and edge sheets on the edge of the Barakhamba road center.
“We will plant Salvia, Petunia and Marigold in various colors here at the end of November.
Verge is almost two meters wide so we have to be careful about plants that are not damaged by people who cross the stretch,” Chellaiah said.
In Central Park at Connaught Place, at least 17,000 flowering pots with tulips in various colors will be placed at the end of November around the amphitheater to improve the appearance of this place.
“Tulip will be planned along the fountain and will be replaced with seasonal flowers.
Also, to provide a rainbow look to the room around the amphitheater, thousands of flowering antirrhinum pots, Dianthus, Pansy, Petunia and other plants will be placed there,” said an official NDMC.
The Civic body is in the process of giving a contract for 80,000 tulip bulbs in 10 different colors (mostly dark and single colors).
Cheliiah said the tulip that will be planted in Central Park will be an additional amount that is tendered and there is no bright color or the nuances of multicolournni will be accepted this year.
In places like the Windsor Place roundabout opposite Le Meridien Hotel, landscape work has begun and a heart-shaped frame is being installed.
“Eight heart-shaped frames have been installed where red petunia will be planted from November and so on.
Then the leaves will be planted to cover the frame and give them aesthetic display,” said the citizenship official.
At the house bathing roundabout also, the plan is to transplant Phoenix Palms and improve the appearance of busy traffic points by planting high decorative plants and colorful blooms.
“While preparations occur in nurseries to grow flowering plants from hybrid imported seeds to meet the big requirements in the peak season, we also plan to buy seeds if needed,” the official said.
At Talkatna Garden, where trimmed carpets are seen consisting of a straight column of hybrid petunia, Dahlia and Salvia along the fountain valued by visitors every year, the city council this time changes geometry and chooses to look for flowering plants.
“To highlight this geometric pattern, we will ensure that the plant height will remain the same,” said the official.
In Tikona Park opposite the residence of Indian vice president, a group of Petunia, Antirrhinum, Dianthus, Pansy and Larkspur will be planted with luxurious green grass.
