Chennai: After recording a decline in new cases every day since May 21, Tamil Nadu on Thursday reported a surge in everyday case after 69 days.
The country recorded 1,859 new cases compared to 1,756 cases on Wednesday.
On May 21, new cases at TN peaked to 36,184.
Data shows at least 20 of 38 districts in reporting between one and 26 cases again on Thursday compared to new cases Wednesday.
Among Chennai, Coimbatore and Erode have reported an increase every day for the past four days.
Fresh cases in Chennai have risen from 122 on July 26 to 181 on Thursday.
During the same period in the case in Coimbatore increased from 164 to 188, while in Erode rose from 127 to 166.
“We are testing more people now and contact contacts also increase.
We did around 1.3 lakh tests a day a week ago.
We are testing 1.5 lakh people now and most of them are high-risk cases.

TN on Thursday recorded 28 deaths, compared to 29 on Wednesday, which encouraged cumulative victims to 34,023.
In the end, there were 21,207 people undergoing treatment for viral infections.
