Bhubaneswar: The Puri Regency Government is scheduled to conduct a special three-day Covid Test Camp for the Jagannath temple servants from Friday, in front of Yatra on July 20.
Like Rath Yatra, only the RT-PCR servants who return negative, will be allowed to do rituals and pull the train on the budding.
Overall 3,548 people consisting of 2,848 servants and 700 temple staff had undergone RT-PCR test 48 hours before Rath Yatra on Monday.
Of them, only 19 waiters were positively tested for Covid.
“We have asked the servants to appear in four test centers for the next three days,” said Administrator Temple (Development) Ajay Kumar Jena.
District administration said the arrangement for budding would be similar to Rath Yatra.
“We will impose curfew in the city of Puri to prevent meetings at the Grand Road or on the roof of the building along the road.
Strict action will be taken against those who violate the rules,” said a district official.
Administration sealed two buildings, respectively on Wednesday and Thursday, for violating the curfew and allowing worshipers to gather for Rath Yatra.
The police have also registered a case against several people, who have gathered on the roof during Rath Yatra.
