Nashik: The resumption of monsoon activities has brought a lot of assistance to farmers in North Maharashtra because the current spell will be proven to be important for Kharif plants.
The city of Nashik reported about 11 mm of rainfall over a 24-hour period ended Wednesday morning.
Other districts of North Maharashtra such as Dhule, Jalgaon and Nandurbar also receive good rain.
According to farmers, they are awaiting the resumption of rainfall activities for the past two weeks and there is a possibility that Kharif plants will be greatly affected due to lack of rainfall.
But timely rainfall will now be beneficial for Kharif plants.
Deva Patil, a farmer, said that he was worried about his corn plants on two hectares due to a 15-day gap in rainfall activities.
“Pangkasan will be seriously affected after three-four days if the monsoon activity has not been revived.
Stable light rain recently will benefit Kharif plants,” he said.
According to the embodiment of agricultural officers in the Nashik district, Vivek Sonawane, good rainfall in the last 24 hours will definitely benefit Kharif plants such as corn and cotton.
Sonange, who also holds allegations of Dhule District Supervisors agricultural officers, said Kharif’s plants will decrease drastically if rainfall has been postponed for four-five days.
“There is a main belt of corn and cotton in Dhule, Jalgaon and Nandurbar District.
The rain recently will benefit this Kharif plant.
It is not proven to be very useful for short-term kharif plants such as Moong and Urad.
This can cause a decrease in the production of these two plants around 50%.
But the area under cultivation of these two plants is relatively less, “Sonange said.
Bharat Dighole, President, Association of Growers onion Maharashtra, said, “It will definitely help Khif Corps, but still need adequate rainfall in several talukas from the Nashik district.”
