New Delhi: A 17-year-old boy was arrested for strangling his little friend to death because he allegedly made an indecent statement against his family members, police said on Thursday.
The victim was missing from his house on August 1 and his mother filed a complaint of the police on August 3, they said.
His friends were interrogated but the police did not find anything suspicious.
On August 8, the victim’s body was very decomposed and full of maggots found near the drain in the Colony Geeta area, a senior police officer said.
The victim’s mother identified her body as her son with the help of his shoes and clothes.
The autopsy report states the cause of death as a criticism, he said.
Deputy Commissioner of Police (Shahdara) R Sathiyasundaram said, “While checking CCTV camera recordings, we saw the victim to Jalan Pushta at around 10:15 a.m.
in two people.” After being interrogated, one of them revealed that the Duo was drunk when the fight broke out between them after the victim allegedly made a indecent statement against his family.
In anger, he strangled the victim with a belt, police said.
