Bengaluru: After eight years of gap, the Regional Transport Authority of Karnataka (RTA) has agreed to the upward revision in automatic rickshaw rates in Bengaluru with the effect of 1.
December.
RTA hasn’t issued an order in this matter.
At the meeting on Saturday, RTA decided to increase the minimum rate from Rs 25 (for the first 1.9km) to Rs 30 (for 2km).
For every kilometer, the cost will rise from Rs 13 to Rs 15 to RS 15.
There is a 50% premium on the night rides (from 10pm to 5 in the morning).
There were no fees for the first five minutes.
This will be Rs 5 for every 15 minutes.
There are no luggage fees up to 20kg, and Rs 5 per kg outside the threshold.
Commuter can carry a maximum of 50kg on automatic trips.

Transportation officials said they would give the driver of the Autorickshaw driver to 2022 February to calibrate the meter.
In addition, they must display the tariff graph.
The autorickshaw driver does not push the increase in tariffs in the past that fear of commuting can shift to an application-based taxi.
By taxi it is expensive after the transportation department still gets a minimum and maximum tariff, the automatic driver feels the revision of the tariff is unavoidable.
Officials said they revised the tariff after taking into account inflation, increases in LPG prices and maintenance costs.
The LPG refill price automatically rose from Rs 58.18 per liter in October to Rs 66 in November.
On May 2020, Rs 32.51 per liter.
C Sampath, Secretary General, Uni Adarsha Auto Drivers, welcomed the rate revision and said they did not know how passengers, hit hard by Covid-induced financial losses, would react to new rates.
Many passengers say the transportation department and police traffic must enforce the revised tariff.
“Many drivers have collected Rs 30 minimum fees over the past few years,” said Kumar Sathish, a commuter from Koramangala.
