Pune: Minister of Tourism and Environment Aditya Thackeray on Wednesday said all vehicles purchased or employed to be used by the government from April 2022 will be strictly on electricity.
“Severe losses will be issued if the car currently used by the government is replaced by an electric vehicle (EV).
But the new car purchased or employed by the government from April 2022 will be an electric vehicle,” he said while overcoming a press conference in the city.
He said filling stations must be made available at gas stations and residential community parking and single buildings to encourage the use of electric vehicles.
Thackeray said the government had a plan to make a pune of a carbon neutral city in 2030.
“43 cities greenhouse gas inventories will be conducted to understand what the recovery should be done.
Pune must meet the requirements of being one of the top 10 Bloomberg cities.

Thackeray also visited the Kinetic Green electric vehicle manufacturer, where it toured the facility and shown its inventory.
He sought an aggressive implementation of the new electric vehicle policy, adding that the state government would implement purchasing policies for such buses and cars, as well as vehicles for waste management and tourism.
