From e-bikes to flying cars: Ola plot future mobility

New Delhi: Ola India plans to produce kick scooters, e-bike, drones, and even flying cars under the scheme of future mobility to help meet the country’s transportation needs, the founder of the Bhavish Agarwal company said in a blogPost on Thursday.
Ola, supported by the Japanese Softbank Group, is building an ecosystem “new mobility” which will include mobility services, new energy vehicles and automatic retail digital forms, Agarwal said in its post.
The company’s electricity unit will soon start producing its first electric scooter at the factory in the southern state of Tamil Nadu which he said is the largest in the world.
Indian start-ups also have plans to expand bicycles and electric cars.
The future of transportation that is accessible and affordable in India is electricity, and internal combustion engines, cars and related ecosystems are “leftovers from the past”, said Argawal in his position, adding that consumers have been reduced to just “Cog In Giant Wheels”.
“EVS (electric vehicle) We are a smart and connected AI machine and will jump over the current private vehicle which is a stupid mechanical device.
They will present various needs through various form factors including kick scooters, e-bike and even flying cars.,” He wrote.
Agarwal estimates that with EV at a cost of 80% less to run compared to gasoline vehicles, the encouragement of the company’s mobility can increase vehicle ownership in India up to 40% of the population of about 15% today, and also reduce air pollution.
EVS currently forms a small portion of 23 million cars, scooters and motorbikes sold in India in a year – with electric scooters leading the package.
This is mainly due to the high cost of EV compared to the variants of gasoline and inadequate charging infrastructure.
To give this sector encouragement, India plans to provide around $ 7.5 billion in total incentives to the company to manage batteries and vehicle manufacturing, and to buyers to switch to EV.
Tesla Inc., the world’s largest electric car maker, is also preparing to start selling cars in India and has lobbied the government to reduce taxes on imported eVs.
