From fresh covid cases in Kolkata, 75% without symptoms

Kolkata: From the cases of fresh covid recorded in Kolkata by Kolkata Municipal Corporation (KMC) in the last 24 hours, more than 75% did not show symptoms.
The number of new cases in Kolkata on Thursday is 260, according to data compiled by KMC.
TimesviewManyy from this case may be without symptoms, but we need to follow all the protocols that fit Covid.
Let the guard down will only make the worst situation.
According to the daily health department bulletin, the city recorded 232 cases, a marginal decline of 244 cases recorded on Wednesday.
In Bengal, 833 cases were recorded, slides from 867 on Wednesday.
Of the 260 cases recorded by KMC, 201 asymptomatic.
While 163 of these patients had received both vaccine doses, 19 had got one and 37 did not have a single dose.
While the number of cases in Bengal has floated between 600 and 700 for the past few weeks, disappointing guards during the festival has been responsible for the current Spurt, experts.
This will continue to increase, they show, as a number of tests, too, rise.
Of about 38,000 a month ago, the number of tests had dropped to only 23,000 post-puja.
This has spin up to 33,000 now.
“Most testing centers are closed during the festival.
It has begun to rise now and the results are displayed.
If more tests are carried out, the number of positives will increase.
Most will be asymptomatic, because we now have a population and immune flock who is vaccinated substantially,” said the Institute of Post -Pasc medical education & research (IPGMER) Professor Diplipendra Sarkar.
The festive atmosphere that applies and turns off the test centers has been combined to reduce the number of tests that can be proven to be dangerous, pointing at the ganguly subir oncologist.
“People have postponed their covid tests and most of the government centers have been closed since the pujas.
This has attracted the affected amount but it was not real and now spiral.
More tests will show further bursts in the number and I am afraid it’s waiting to happen, “Ganguly said.
Vaccination has caused satisfaction and made people ignore Covid norms and lower their guards, said Sarkar.
“We have managed to vaccinate around 60% of the targeted population in Bengal until now.
Meanwhile is a good number, there are still large parts that are not vaccinated – those under the age of 18 – who remain vulnerable,” said Sarkar.
“Instead of absolute numbers, now we have to look at the level of participants to get a real picture.
This shows an increase in transmissions and numbers that will not be reflected in the numbers until we climb the number of tests,” said an internal drug consultant.
Experts see an increase in participants as an indication of a possible post-festival surge, which, they are afraid, can attack in 8-10 days.
