Thiruvananthapuram: The state government has decided to test the RT-PCR in six districts – Wayanad, Pathanamthitta, Ernakulam, Thiruvananthapuram, Idukki and Kasaragod.
This was decided at Covid reviews held on Tuesday.
It has also been decided to collect data from people who have been infected in the country even after a single vaccination dose.
The districts have been chosen because these districts have crossed 80% of vaccination or close by reaching this target.
Wayanad, Pathanamthitta and Ernakulam are districts that have achieved 80% vaccination.
In addition, the Chairman of the Pinarayaya Minister Vijayan has urged the Ministry of Health to increase RT-PCR tests in all other districts.
After the new Covid variant, C.1.2, reported from various countries, the state has decided to improve monitoring at the airport.
People who come from such countries will be the target of RT-PCR tests at the airport themselves.
If tested positively, they will be sent to quarantine directly from the airport.
The minister’s chairman also urged all local governments to take initiatives in getting all over 60 years of vaccinated in their territory.
At present, strict locking measures have been implemented in local bodies with WIPR above 7%.
All local bodies are asked to collect testing details in this area and check whether cases are increasing.
If the case increases, the level of environmental level must be implemented instead of micro level detention.
In a review meeting, it was also observed that currently the country has an eight-dose of the lakh vaccine and there is no shortage of syringes.
The minister’s chairman said that as long as the priority vaccine supply must be given to the districts where the level of vaccination is lacking.
