Frozen bank accounts can affect the right to life: HC

Bengaluru: The freezing of bank accounts will affect the right to live in Article 21 of the Constitution, the High Court has said.
Justice Mohammed Nawaz made this observation while allowing the petition to be submitted by Narayana Yadav, a new businessman based in Delhi, and directed the CEN police station in Yadgir to Intimate Banks to Mendeze.
Defreezing is subject to entrepreneurs who live by their commitment to provide bank guarantees for the amount of Rs 3.7 Lakh, said the court.
Yadav has challenged the notification of June 22 2020 issued by the police, directed the Axis Bank manager to freeze his account and link account number, four everything.
The action was based on complaints from Ludra Mary, a resident of Shahpur in Yadgir, who accused that he received an email on May 27, 2020 stated that he had won the Lottery Rs 48.5 Lakh.
To get the same, he must enter the website.
He entered a password and the username provided and filled in the requested information.
In response, he was asked to deposit a number to the account number provided.
Until 10 June 2020, total RS 3.7 lakh was stored in the account, but Ludra did not get money.
Ludra approached the police, who ordered the freezing of the Yadav account in the field that the bank’s bank account had received Rs 99,999 from it.
Yadav claimed that he was not involved in the allegations of crime and was surprised by the intimacy of the freezing of his account.
He said he was running an electronic store in Delhi and the business results were moved to a company account that was maintained at Axis Bank, Dwarka Branch, Delhi, and all the transactions were legitimate.
The police defended the action, saying it needed to freeze the account for investigation and also to avoid further transluctions.
