Mumbai: Union Minister Narayan Rane on Friday claimed that the cost of importing higher crude oil was the main reason behind spiral and diesel gasoline retail prices.
Replying questions about the increase in fuel prices that have touched the record level this year, he told reporters in the Ratnagiri district that certain things were not in the hands of the government.
“The cost of importing crude oil has risen.
Therefore, we (the central government) must increase the retail price of gasoline, diesel, LPG.
Certain things are not in our hands, because we import it,” UNI Minister MSME.
said.
According to estimates, India imports more than 80 percent of its oil needs and more than 50 percent of its gas needs.
“I will take a problem with the right person,” Rane said when asked whether ordinary people would get help from the increase in fuel prices.
The Minister is in the Ratnagiri Coastal District of Maharashtra as part of his’ Jan Asirwad Yatra’, the BJP Bulk Contact Program.
