Full vaccination for Pune Dist only on March 2022

Pune: Lakh residents in Pune District could not be fully vaccinated in December, a rough estimate by the senior health department official showed.
Officials told TOI that all adult populations that qualified in Pune District would only be fully vaccinated on March 2022.
The 84-day gap between two covishield shots rather than vaccine supplies is the reason.
According to statistics from the Ministry of Health, nearly six Lakh residents have not received their first dose to be achieved by the authorities in October-end.
These citizens will be eligible for their second dose only in the second two weeks of January even if they all have to get their first shot for the next few days.
The majority of them tend to get covishield because more are available.
Add to this number that remains who will mature for the second dose, those who receive their first dose earlier this month, and those who will choose it anytime after October.
On Saturday, more than half of the adult populations that fulfill the district requirements have not been fully vaccinated.
Dr.
Sanjay Deshmukh, Assistant Director (Medical), Pune Circle, told TI that those who would get the first dose of this month had to wait for 84 days for their second shot.
“Thus, it is likely that we can achieve full vaccination for the entire target of adults in the district in March 2022.
With the next few days, we will be able to achieve a double vaccination half of the total projected adults in the district, almost 42 lakh,” he added.
Pune Zilla Parishad CEO Ayush Prasad said, “There are several reasons may be beyond December 31 to achieve double vaccination for all adult populations Pune District.
We believe that the population of 14-15% can be a population floating district and therefore, which must also be taken into account before arriving Fully vaccinated numbers.
“Prasad said that some beneficiaries in several rustic bags were hesitant to vaccinate.
“Making them start a vaccination schedule will be a challenge, but we work with NGOs and political leaders to overcome this,” he added.
There were almost 3 lakh people left to get their first dose in Haveli, and one lakh in Daund.
“In Haveli, some might have got their first shot from the city.
Some may also be cut off, where we really monitor population vaccination status in rural areas by checking their Vax certificate.
In Daund, we plan to set up a special vaccination drive to encourage people who are remaining to get their first shot as soon as possible, “said Prasad.
