Gurgaon: The State Government finally released Rs 10.3 Crore funds for the Noah model and directed the district education and district administration to pay delayed salaries and other contributions from more than 350 teaching and non-teaching staff.
“The salary has been detained because of the second wave of Covid and Fund Crunch.
But now, the government has announced that staff must be paid before Diwali so they can have an encouraging festival season,” said a senior education department official.
The teachers welcomed the move, called it “no less than victory”.
“We have struggled for our rights without stopping and it took almost a year for the government to overcome our worries.
But this is still half the work done.
We have not received a salary for September and October.
Also, other funds are waiting.
We urge The government to release them too, “said Satish Khatana, the President of the District, the Welfare Association of Melat School School Employees.
Teachers also demanded that the government implement its commitment in 2016 that all model schools in the district will be associated with the Ministry of Education so that teachers and students get benefits such as midday food, free books, payment benefits and better employees.
