Despulang Ring Basawanpur on the right bank of the Rapti River in Kaudalam Bansgaon, was broken on Thursday morning and because of this around 20 houses were influenced in the village of Basawanpur and Bharouvalia.
“Basawanpur ring bait was broken because it overflowed at 3am on Thursday and because of this, 20 houses in the village of Basawanpur and Bharouvalia were affected,” said the executive engineer, said Vipin Kumar.
Rapti flowed at 77.21m which was only 0.33 m below the highest level recorded in 1998.
