G Aghila assumed the office as director of Nit Trichy

Trichy: Dr.
G Aghila took over as Director of the National Institute of Technology Trichy (Nit-T) on Thursday.
He took over the charges of G Kannabiran who had become the director who was responsible for the past two months.
The new director said the priority would be given for multi-disciplinary and inter-disciplinary activities involving artificial intelligence and a data-based approach to overcome real-time problems in the community.
Aghila said that he would focus on making Nit Trichy more visible at the national and global level through alumni network support and participation.
“The possibility of technology transfers will be explored to train our students and will focus on increasing the Institute-Industries relationship,” he told TI.
Aghila replaced Dr.
Mini Shaji Thomas to become the Director of the second woman from the 57-year-old Institute.
Previously, Aghila was a professor of computer science and engineering and functions as a register responsible for Nit Puducherry.
PhD from Anna University, Chennai, it has expertise in the Blockchain field, large data analytics, ontology techniques, cheminformatics and artificial intelligence.
He has 32 years of experience in academics and as administration.
