Thiruvananthapuram: The State General Education Department has started the G-Suite online platform training for teachers who are visually challenging in government and schools assisted in the state.
A total of 456 teachers in all states will benefit from the training program organized by kites.
Kites have spread free software-based screen readers applications such as Orca on school computers so that teachers with visual disorders can overcome their limitations with technology assistance.
Apart from this, special ICT training is given to all teachers who are visually disturbed regularly.
The G-Suite has been used by the Department of General Education as a preferred platform for conducting online classes.
As part of this, the teacher and more than 10 lakh students from class 8 to 10 have been given a login ID.
The training session for a higher secondary teacher will also begin this week, the kite authorities said on Monday.
The Minister of Public Education V Sivankutty, who visited the training session at the school to be visually challenged at Vazhuthaudud here has agreed to the request that a visually disturbed teacher must be given more time to complete the training program.
