G20 leaders ‘laser focus’ for anti-terrorism efforts in Afghanistan

Washington: The world’s rich economy decided to channel aid through the United Nations to contain a humanitarian crisis in Afghanistan at an extraordinary peak on Tuesday.
Some leaders provided virtual visits, highlighting tension about how to deal with the country’s new Taliban regime.
Xi Jinping and Russian Vladimir Putin among those who did not participate in the G20 call organized by Italy.
Overall, more than two-thirds of leaders were called, with the rest represented by the Minister, according to an official G20 who asked not to be identified.
The world’s main economic leaders including US President Joe Biden “discusses the critical needs to maintain a laser focus on our eternal counterrorism efforts, including the threat of Is-K,” said the White House statement.
It refers to the Offshoot of the Terror State Islamic Group in the region, the Taliban bitter rival.
The leaders of the G20 also discussed the need to provide safe exercises for foreign nationals and “Afghan partners” with documentation that hoped to leave Afghanistan, said US reading.
“Various representatives of international organizations talk about humanitarian disaster,” said Italian PM Mario Draghi told reporters after the conversation.
“I invited everyone to work with as much as possible” to avoid the worst winter approach, and “Almost all leaders talk about the need forge United’s approach.” Italy holding the president this year from the G20.
The front effort of the event to overcome the general line in the Taliban was dropped and, when leaders struggled to bridge their differences, Afghanistan was preparing for destruction.
On Monday, UN Secretary Antonio Guterres urged the countries to withdraw assets and allows to flow or risk the country’s countryside.
He said by strengthening the economy can be done without recognizing the Taliban.
The leaders emphasized their commitment to channel direct assistance to Afghans through independent international organizations, the White House said.
They also discussed a safe hall from Afghanistan and how to prevent the country to become a paradise for terrorism.
When the Taliban came to power in August after two decades of war with America, half the population had depended on assistance.
Officially labeled terrorist organizations, militant groups have not been given access to the country’s central bank reserves.
The situation of economic bodyguards has caused new concerns about the potential of the mass of refugees to neighboring countries such as Pakistan, with most of the efforts focused on keeping them from Turkey and to Europe.
China was represented by Foreign Minister Wang Yi.
The Asian nation is the warmest country to the top, an official said.
China wants all countries to force unilateral sanctions against Afghanistan to revoke them and global financial institutions to support infrastructure projects and help Kabul fight poverty, Wang said in a statement after the meeting.
Moscow, meanwhile, told the previous Italian presidency that Putin and Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov would be too busy to join, Kremlin spokesman said.
