Vadodara: The Union Minister for Road Transportation and Jalan Raya Nitin Gadkari on Friday said that Delhi-Mumbai Green Expressway, in investment in RS 1 Lakh Crore, among the largest highway projects in the world.
Gadkari is in town to start work for rebuilding Savli Junction on Jalan National 48 on the outskirts of the city.
The intersection regularly witnessed the traffic chaos and changes made to streamline the traffic movements there.
Gadkari said that the highway was important for the development of Gujarat.
A stretch of 423km from the toll road passed through Gujarat.
Working on stretching between Vadodara and Ankleshwar will be completed next year, he said.
Gadkari added that the Dholera-Ahmedabad toll road in the state will also produce an investment of Rs 3,000crore.
Gadkari also joined the event to distribute assistance to widows and people with disabilities at serving nagargruh in the city to mark the anniversary of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
Widows are given a retirement command while disabled given assistance from the MP Ranjan Bhatt grant.
