JAMSHEDPUR: JAMSHEDPUR MP BIDYUT BARAN Mahanato has claimed that a meeting of high-level reviews from the Indian National Highways Authority (NHAI) chaired by the Minister of Perat for road transportation and Jalan Raya Nitin Gadkari has approved the design for the construction of seven kilometers long double-decker elevated corridor between Pardih and baliguma at the National Highway-33.
Mahanato on Wednesday claimed that the design was prepared by the official NHAI agent, agreed with several changes at the meeting held in New Delhi on Tuesday.
“The elevated corridor will be built with the potential perspective of vehicle traffic growth for the next 50 years in Jamshedpur and peripheral regions,” MP said.
The flyover will have two ramps, each at both ends to facilitate residents living in the corridor area to access flyovers without driving remotely to enter the corridor.
“Gadkari-ji has asked officials to ensure the initial prepared detailed project report so that the estimated finalization of project costs and the finished tender process and construction can be done in a time bound,” MP said.
MP noted that the minister before the CGM, NHAI, Aditya Prakash and Director of Project A Kapoor insisted on the six-lane corridor.
“Previously, Nhai had proposed a length of 5.5 km with a four-way road but maintaining future requirements in mind, I suggest to turn it into six pathways and ministers agree,” Mahanato added.
Singh Gurdeep Transporter based in the city said that with around 50,000 vehicles, including 30,000 heavy vehicles, plying in the stretch of Baliguma-Dimna-Pldih-Chandil from NH-33 every day, the six lanes road is more appropriate.
Dimna Resident Sanjay Dubey, an entrepreneur, said thousands of heavy trucks that ferry goods are finished from 15 large companies in the city operating to NH-33.
Significantly, the corridor that was elevated was an important component of RS 1,479 Crore 163-km from the four-line NH-33 Line construction project which began in 2013.
The construction work of 163-km long namkum-mahulia stretch should have ended 2020 but still far from completion.
“The high corridor proposed in Pardih-Dimna Stretch is a big problem that blocks the work of widening roads.
The locals have objections to the previous corridor design,” said an official at the Jamshedpur Division of the Nhai Requeting anonymity.
In particular, the urban population living in Mango, Dimna, Pldih, Baliguma and surrounding areas demanded sloping at the end of the closest corridor for smooth access.
