New Delhi: Union Road Transport and Highways Minister Nitin Gadkari on Wednesday asked vehicle manufacturers to prevent the production and sale of diesel engine vehicles, and urge them to promote other technologies.
Overcoming the Annual Convention on Siam Body Siam Virtually, Gadkari said the government is committed to providing vehicles with flex machines that provide option users to run vehicles at 100 percent of gasoline or 100 percent bio-ethanol.
“I appealed to vehicle manufacturers to prevent the production and sale of diesel engine vehicles.
Diesel-based pollution is very dangerous for human environment and health.” The industry must promote alternative fuel technology and R & D funds (research and development) for alternative fuels.

The minister said he was looking forward to the industry for fast roll-out vehicles compatible with E20.
E20 is a combination of 20 percent ethanol and 80 percent of gasoline.” It will be very helpful in cutting out our import Bill and provide direct benefits to our farmers, without compromise in the environment, “he said.
Gadkari also said Flex-based vehicles had run in the US, Brazil and Canada, and some of these brands managed to operate in India Also.
“Technology is available, and only a matter of time to take the leap that will change the landscape of Indian transportation forever,” said Gadkari.
The minister said he had received information by the Ministry of Petroleum officials that the ethanol pump will begin in each district in the country it was social to ensure that some optional features such as retro-reflective tapes, hand -Reors, automatic helmet reminder systems and stand detection systems, are installed in all vehicle segments for vehicle safety and motorists.
He said his service also explored the prospect of hydrogen fuel cell vehicles (HFCV).

We need to find the right technology for generations, transportation, and storage,” he added that low-cost electrolyer would be a modifier of games in the energy ecosystem in India.
He stressed that the focus was to make Indian vehicles equivalent to international standards in terms of accident safety, body design and the average fuel efficiency of the company (cafe).
He noted that there was also a need to improve the quality of the bus for passenger safety and comfort.
Provision of high-tech cabins and ac in trucks and long-term buses will increase the convenience of driving and avoid drivers’ fatigue, which is the main reason for accidents in heavy duty vehicles operating on a long route, he said.
Noting that global belief in Indian vehicles has increased, said Gadkari, “our exports have increased to the international market.” He also said there was a need to develop custom custom battery technology for electric vehicles (EV).
“The development of filling infrastructure is very important for the adoption of EV,” he said, adding that the government strongly encouraged renewable energy-based charging mechanisms for the vehicle.
Gadkari said the government was promoting the adoption of a cleaner and more green alternative fuel such as ethanol, methanol, bio-diesel, BIO-CNG, LNG, electricity and green-hydrogen fuel technology to reduce dependence on gasoline and diesel.
