DONE / Alvi Times News Network Kanpur: Kanpur Smart City Limited, Directorate of Sports and Uttar Pradesh Cricket Association (UPCA) will soon build a gallery of visitors at the Green Park Stadium to describe the history of Green Park Cricket.
The proposed visitor gallery will notify the 70-year history of the green garden.
BCCI, UPCA and the Sports Directorate will provide historical items such as rare photos of players, cricket equipment, news published in newspapers, trophies, medals etc.
for the gallery of visitors to be opened in November.
Division Commissioner Raj Shekhar and UPCA officials appealed to sports lovers that if they have something related to the history of Green Park they can share it with the administrative district on November 15.
These items will be displayed in the visitor’s gallery to attract visitors, he said.
Commissioner Division held a meeting at the Pavilion Directorate on Wednesday and discussed the proposal and reviewed the preparation for a test match to be held from November 25 against the New Zealand team visiting.
Visitor galleries are proposed to be established at the Pavilion Directorate, and the construction company has been asked to build a museum and audio visual gallery before the match.
UPCA representatives said the UPCA had collected around 120 photos and several sports materials.
The Commissioner asked the UPCA official to provide content for audio visual films within a week and contact all former Cricketers to collect a 70-year history of the green garden and scorer sheets held at the stadium.
During the meeting, the Commissioner asked the Nirman Nigam Project Manager to install the elevator in the media center within 40 days and provide details of the specifications to him within two days so that the technical assessment can be done and then start the installation work.
