Ahmedabad: A Branch Team of Local Crime (LCB) Police Gandhinagar stormed a hotel in Randheja Crossroads and arrested 26 people to gamble and confiscated an article worth Rs 1.21 Crore from them.
The LCB police got the input that the population of Unja in Mehsana, Dharmesh Patel and his friend Kamal Patel from Visnagar in Mehsana and Rahim Nagani, a resident of Juhapura in Ahmedabad City, has run gamblers at Randheja hotels in Randheja.
The police reached the hotel and went to the first floor where gambling activities were underway.
“They have set up the curtain beside the wedding room and run gamblers,” said a police officer.
He said that this hotel was run by Nagani.
The police confiscated RS 2.18 lakh cash, 39 cellphones worth Rs 4.22 lakh and nine vehicles, all worth 1.21 crore and registered cases under the prevention of gambling against 26 people.
