Ahmedabad: A 25-year-old man who slitted the roof of the tin a cellphone shop to steal, bleed to death after his neck was stuck in the hole he had carved into the store.
The victim was a resident of Chhatral Gidc in Taloli Talel from Gandhinagar and he tried to enter the shop at Borisana in Kalol at small hours on Tuesday, a Gandhinagar police officer said.
The deceased has been identified as Arjun Kol, native to Uttar Pradesh.
He came to Chhatral Gidc to work as a relaxed worker about six months ago.
CCTV footage shows cabbage lifting the roof slices and trying to enter the store.
His body drifted but his neck was trapped, said investigation officer, assistant-sub-inspector of Karamshi Rabari from Police Kalol Taluka.
The recording shows the cabbage trying to break through at around 12:10 a.m.
on Tuesday.
“He tried to free himself and his body began to stretch.
After about five minutes, he was still,” Rabari said.
Shop owner, Yagnesh Shah, 30, a resident of Kalol, found Koc hanging from the roof.
Shah called the owner of another shop and climbed onto the roof and saw Koc died with a sign of an injury to his neck.
He called the police and police personnel Kalol Taluka reached the place.
Police said that the cabbage worked with private companies in Chhatral GIDC.
His body was sent to the Gandhinagar civil hospital for postmortem.
